Visitors arriving by car
Paid parking is available in the City of Santa Fe-managed surface lots located behind SITE Santa Fe, behind Warehouse 21, and next to James Kelly Contemporary / Railyard Performance Center. Be sure to have ample change or dollar bills in case the machines do not accommodate credit cards; signs indicate payment is required from 6 am to 6 pm.
Parking is also available at the Railyard Parking structure, located at corner of Camino de la Familia and Manhattan Avenue across from the Violet Crown Theater.
There are four ways to access the Railyard Parking Structure:
- Guadalupe Street either direction, then west on Manhattan Avenue at the light
- Guadalupe Street either direction, then west on Montezuma toward Sanbusco Center, left on Market St. and right on Manhattan
- Paseo de Peralta east from St. Francis Drive, then left on Camino de la Familia
- Paseo de Peralta west from Guadalupe Street, then right on Camino de la Familia
Visitors arriving by air
Santa Fe is easily accessible via the Albuquerque International Sunport and the Santa Fe Municipal Airport. In addition to commercial carriers, both airports accommodate private aircraft. Additionally, private charters are available in Santa Fe. Driving time between Santa Fe and Albuquerque is about one hour. Both cities have good options for rental cars. Sandia Shuttles offers service between Santa Fe and Albuquerque and limousine hire is available from several providers. A free shuttle connects the Albuquerque International Sunport with the RailRunner commuter train that operates between Santa Fe and Albuquerque. The schedule is posted HERE. (also, see our information about visiting SITE Santa Fe by train on this page). Jet Blue offers a seasonal non-stop daily flight between ABQ and JFK in New York. American Eagle operates four daily flights between Santa Fe and Dallas/Fort Worth (DFW) and one daily flight between Santa Fe Los Angeles (LAX). Great Lakes Airlines runs two daily flights between Santa Fe and Denver (DEN) and two daily flights between Santa Fe and Clovis, NM (CVN). Beginning May 1, 2013 United Airlines will run two daily flights between Santa Fe and Denver (DEN).
Visitors arriving by train
SITE Santa Fe is just a few steps from the rail depot in Santa Fe–visiting SITE by rail is fast and easy. The New Mexico RailRunner Express commuter train runs between Belen, NM and Santa Fe, NM, with several stops in Albuquerque and other points in between. The RailRunner is quick, comfortable and has amenities such as free wi-fi. A fast, free shuttle between the Albuquerque International Sunport and the RailRunner’s downtown Albuquerque stop is available. Unfortunately, the RailRunner doesn’t suit everyone’s schedule–check schedules HERE. Santa Fe may also be reached by Amtrak.
Visitors arriving by foot or bike
With 300 days of sunshine per year on average, Santa Fe is a wonderful city for bicyclists and pedestrians. SITE Santa Fe sits adjacent to the Railyard Park which serves as a central hub for the city-maintained trail system––it’s the meeting place of the Acequia and Rail Trails with quick access to the Santa Fe River Trail and the downtown Plaza and Alameda. Santa Fe is ranked as a “bronze level” bicycle friendly community by the League of American Bicyclists, a point driven home by this New York Times article about cycling in the nation’s oldest capital city. The same trail network that caters to cyclists accommodates pedestrians. Previous visitors to Santa Fe will have discovered the charms of walking the mix of modern streets and narrow lanes. Visitors arriving by bus
The Santa Fe Trails bus system is an effective way to navigate the city and there are a few options for visiting SITE Santa Fe by bus. Bus routes 2 and 4 as well as the “Santa Fe Pickup” stop near SITE Santa Fe. Maps and schedules are available HERE. Bus fare is $1 per trip. A day pass may be purchased for $2. Persons over 60 years of age and person with disabilities ride for half-cost. Youth 17 years and younger ride for free. Full-sized buses are able to accommodate bicycles. Santa Fe Trails also has a special M route for museums. The museum route visits several museums downton and on “Museum Hill.” Naturally, it stops near SITE Santa Fe as well.
